The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 20" Dual Battery Chainsaw Kit (2827-22) is a cordless rear-handle saw that runs on the M18 battery system and generates 70cc-class power for professional felling and bucking. This is the full kit — it ships with the saw, two REDLITHIUM FORGE XC8.0 batteries, and an M18 dual-bay rapid charger, so it is ready to cut out of the box.
What it does well
- POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers 5.8HP peak power with 9.5Nm of peak torque; a Power Mode Select button switches between Standard Mode (4.4HP) for cooler running and longer run time and Peak Mode (5.8HP) for the toughest cuts.
- Runs a 20" bar with .325" pitch, .050" gauge chain (78 drive links) at a 14.3 m/s chain speed.
- Optimized for two REDLITHIUM FORGE XC8.0 batteries, delivering up to 60 cuts per charge in 10" hardwoods.
- Inertia chain brake and variable-speed trigger for kickback protection and throttle control; automatic oiler, dual metal bucking spikes, high-visibility sight lines, captured bar nuts, and onboard scrench storage.

If you are already on the M18 platform (250+ compatible tools) and cut hardwood or larger limbs regularly, the dual-battery design and 20" bar make it a strong gas replacement. Homeowners with only occasional light trimming may be better served by a smaller M18 saw.
