Standard, premium or reinforced
Empire's standard barricade tape is 2 mil plastic that stays pliant in cold weather, and its premium tape is 2.5 mil. Reinforced tape has woven fibers with a 300 lb break strength, which Empire says is 16 times stronger than regular barricade tape. It doesn't stretch or sag, so it suits long-term use and long runs between tie points. The 500 ft reinforced rolls are 7 mil.
Caution or danger
The yellow rolls read CAUTION and the red rolls read DANGER. Bilingual rolls add Spanish: CAUTION/CUIDADO and DANGER/PELIGRO. Two rolls add DO NOT ENTER: the 77-1006 (CAUTION DO NOT ENTER) and the 11-081 (DANGER DO NOT ENTER). Most of these rolls are printed in 2 in. black letters.
Adhesive caution tape
The 76-0050 is a different kind of tape: a 2 in. x 54 ft roll of 6 mil PVC with black and yellow stripes and adhesive on one side, for marking walls, steps, lift gates and low overhangs. Empire says it resists abrasion, acids, alkalis and oils.

How long are the rolls?
Barricade tape comes in 100 ft and 500 ft reinforced rolls and 200, 300 and 1,000 ft standard and premium rolls, all 3 in. wide. The 71-1003 is a 3-pack of 1,000 ft rolls. The adhesive tape is 54 ft x 2 in.
Is barricade tape reusable?
Empire calls its barricade tape durable and reusable. For a line that stays up a long time, pick reinforced tape: Empire says it doesn't stretch or sag.
Can I use this tape to mark buried lines?
No. These are above-ground tapes. For a warning over buried lines, use underground warning tape made for that job, such as Empire SHIELDTEC or MAGNATEC tape.
