The Milwaukee M12 FUEL™ 3/8" Stubby Impact Wrench (model 2562-22) is a compact 12V cordless impact wrench that delivers up to 550 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque from a tool that weighs just 2.2 lbs bare and measures 4.8″ deep. This is a kit: it ships with the tool plus an M12™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH OUTPUT™ XC5.0 battery and a CP2.0 battery pack.
What it does well
- POWERSTATE™ brushless motor spins 0–3,000 RPM with up to 550 ft-lbs (6,600 in-lbs) of nut-busting torque and 400 ft-lbs fastening torque.
- 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL™ lets you dial in output; AUTO SHUT-OFF™ applies no more than 15 ft-lbs in forward for hand-tight work, and bolt-removal mode slows RPM once a bolt breaks free.
- Single-handed mode changes — shift the shuttle to neutral and double-tap the trigger to switch modes.
- Tri-LED work lights illuminate the fastener with reduced shadows; 3/8″ friction-ring anvil for quick socket changes.
Is this the right impact wrench for you?
If you work in tight engine bays, under dashes, or anywhere a full-size impact won't fit, the Stubby's 4.8″ length and 2.2 lb bare weight are the draw. It runs on the M12™ battery system, so it's a natural fit for techs already invested in M12™ who need serious torque in a one-handed package. Buyers wanting maximum torque above 550 ft-lbs should step up to an M18 impact instead.
