The Milwaukee M12 Subcompact Brushless 3/8" Drill/Driver Kit (3401-22) pairs Milwaukee's most compact M12 drill/driver with two batteries, a charger, and a contractor bag — a ready-to-run 12V kit for drilling and fastening in tight spaces. The tool measures just 5.4" in length and weighs 2 lbs. with a battery installed.
What it does well
- Brushless motor delivers 350 in-lbs. of torque and a two-speed transmission: 0–450 RPM in low, 0–1,550 RPM in high.
- At 5.4" long and 2 lbs. with battery (1.58 lbs. bare), it reaches into tight spaces and reduces fatigue overhead.
- All-metal 3/8" chuck and a 12-setting clutch for durability and fastening control.
- REDLINK Intelligence monitors load and temperature; part of the M12 system with 150+ compatible tools.

If you need to bore large-diameter holes or drive heavy lags all day, step up to an M18 drill or a hammer drill; this kit has no hammer function. As a -22 kit, it arrives complete with two batteries and a charger, so no separate M12 battery purchase is needed.
