Details
The Milwaukee M18™ Orbital 1/4 Sheet Sander (model 2649-20) is a cordless finish sander built to replace a corded unit on the jobsite, running at up to 13,000 max OPM with a variable speed dial and up to 95% dust collection. This is a bare tool — the M18 battery and charger are sold separately.
What it does well
- Delivers up to 13,000 max OPM, with a variable speed dial adjustable from 11,000 to 13,000 OPM for controlling material removal across different materials.
- 1.6 mm orbit diameter balances removal rate against surface finish.
- Collects up to 95% of dust into the included cotton dust bag, or route to a vacuum with the included universal hose adapter.
- Two-step clamp system for quick sandpaper changes; REDLINK™ electronics protect against overload, overheating, and over-discharge.
Is this the right sander for you?
This is a 1/4 sheet finish sander for carpenters, remodelers, and general contractors who want to cut the cord without losing dust control. Because it is a bare tool, choose it if you already own M18 batteries and a charger; if you are new to the M18 system, plan to buy those separately. It runs on the standard brushed motor rather than FUEL and is not ONE-KEY enabled.
