Details
The Milwaukee M18 Random Orbit Sander (model 2648-20) is a cordless 5" random orbit sander that delivers up to 12,000 Max OPM with variable speed control for fast material removal and fine finishing. This listing is the bare tool — an M18 battery and charger are sold separately.
What it does well
- 7,000–12,000 OPM variable speed control lets you match orbit speed to the material, from aggressive removal to smooth finish work.
- 3/32" orbit diameter produces a high-quality, swirl-reducing finish.
- Quick-change 5" hook & loop sanding pad makes swapping abrasives fast.
- Integrated dust control captures debris through the included dust bag or the universal hose adapter, and an enhanced pad brake reduces free spin.
Is this the right sander for you?
Choose the 2648-20 if you already run M18 batteries and want cordless portability without giving up sanding power. Because it ships as a bare tool, it is the right pick for pros expanding an existing M18 kit; if you don't own M18 batteries yet, plan to add a battery and charger separately.
