The Milwaukee M12™ Brushless 2" Planer (2524-20) is a compact, cordless planer built for finish carpenters and remodelers who need to plane and scribe soft and hardwoods on the jobsite. This is a bare tool — the M12™ battery and charger are sold separately. It removes up to 5/64" of material in a single pass and runs on any M12™ battery pack.
What it does well
- POWERSTATE™ brushless motor spins the cutter head at 14,500 RPM with 2 carbide blades for a smooth surface finish.
- 21 depth settings from 0 – 5/64" let you dial in precise, repeatable cuts, with a maximum cutting depth of 0.078 in.
- 2" wide shoe is optimized for common trim work such as scribing and planing doors.
- Dual-sided shavings port directs debris to either side, and the included shavings collection adapter plus universal hose adapter let you connect a vacuum for a cleaner work area.

Choose the 2524-20 if you already run the M12™ system and want a lightweight (3.1 lbs) planer for trim, doors, and scribing rather than heavy stock removal. Because it ships as a bare tool, it is the right pick when you have M12™ batteries on hand; if you don't, plan to add a battery and charger. Its narrow 2" shoe and 5/64" max cut suit finish and remodel tasks over framing-scale work.
