The Milwaukee Green Cross Line Laser (model 3421) is a self-leveling green cross line laser that runs on standard AA batteries. It comes with (4) AA batteries and a carrying case.
What it does well
- High-intensity green lines with a 100 ft working range, or up to 165 ft with a laser line detector (sold separately)
- Accuracy of ±1/8" at 33 ft
- Self-levels within ±4° of tilt
- Pendulum lock with three settings: locked and off, locked and on, unlocked and on
- Three line modes: horizontal, vertical or cross line
- 8+ hours of runtime on (4) AA batteries
- Integrated magnetic bracket with amplified rare earth magnets that resist sliding on steel, plus screw and nail hang holes
- 1/4-20 thread mount for a tripod or laser accessories
- IP54 water and dust resistance and 1 m impact resistance

Pick the 3421 if you want a straightforward cross line laser for interior leveling and alignment that runs on AA batteries you can buy anywhere. Milwaukee lists it as designed for indoor use. The USB Rechargeable Green Cross Line Laser (3521-21) has the same 100 ft working range, 165 ft detector range and ±1/8" at 33 ft accuracy, but runs on a REDLITHIUM USB battery that charges inside the laser and adds micro control for fine alignment. If you also need plumb points to transfer marks from floor to ceiling, look at the USB Rechargeable Green Cross Line & Plumb Points Laser (3522-21).
