The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 3/8" Compact Impact Wrench with Friction Ring (model 2854-22R) is a cordless kit built for tight-access fastening, delivering up to 250 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque from a housing that measures just 4.8" front to back. A POWERSTATE brushless motor and REDLINK PLUS intelligence drive the tool, and the kit ships with M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 batteries and a charger so it is ready to run out of the box.
What it does well
- Up to 250 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque from a POWERSTATE brushless motor, in a head just 4.8" long for the most access in its class.
- 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL selectable from a single button, spanning 0–3,500 IPM and 0–2,400 RPM across the four modes.
- Mode 4 adds AUTO SHUT-OFF (applies no more than 20 ft-lbs to prevent overtightening) and Bolt Removal Control that cuts RPM once a bolt breaks loose to help prevent fastener drops.
- Tri-LEDs surround the anvil for brighter, lower-shadow lighting, and the friction (hog) ring allows quick socket changes.
Is this the right impact wrench for you?
Choose this 3/8" compact if you work in confined spaces — engine bays, racked assemblies, mechanical rooms — and want strong fastening torque without a full-size head. It is rated for use in up to 69kV environments and runs on any M18 battery, so it fits an existing Milwaukee cordless fleet. If you routinely break loose larger fasteners, step up to a 1/2" high-torque wrench instead.
