The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 1/2" Compact Impact Wrench with Friction Ring (2855-22R) is a cordless kit built around a POWERSTATE brushless motor that delivers up to 250 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque from a tool measuring just 4.9" in length — the most compact in its class for reaching into tight spaces. As a -22R kit, it ships with M18 REDLITHIUM XC5.0 batteries included.

What it does well

• Up to 250 ft-lbs of fastening torque from a housing only 4.9" long, for access in confined spaces
• 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL sets output speed and power; Mode 4 AUTO SHUT-OFF caps torque at no more than 20 ft-lbs for hand-tight work, and Bolt Removal Control drops RPM once a bolt breaks loose to help prevent fastener drops
• Speed ranges by mode — RPM: 0–800, 0–1,650, 0–2,400, 0–2,400; IPM: 0–1,000, 0–2,400, 0–3,500, 0–3,500
• Tri-LEDs surround the anvil for brighter, lower-shadow lighting; rated for use in up to 69kV environments

Choose this kit if you need serious fastening torque in a short-nose tool for engine bays, undercarriage work, and other cramped spots, and you want batteries in the box rather than buying them separately. The friction-ring (hog-ring) anvil favors fast socket swaps; if you prefer a detent pin for socket retention, look at the pin-detent version instead.
