The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 1/2" Compact Impact Wrench with Friction Ring (model 2855-20) is a bare tool — the battery and charger are sold separately. At just 4.9" in length, it is built to reach fasteners in tight, confined spaces while delivering up to 250 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque from its POWERSTATE Brushless motor.
What it does well
- Produces up to 250 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque, with a maximum speed of 2,400 RPM and 3,500 IPM.
- 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL sets output speed and power, and adds Auto Shut-Off (applies no more than 20 ft-lbs for hand-tight fastening) plus a Bolt Removal mode that slows RPM after breakaway to help prevent fastener drops.
- Compact 4.9" head length reaches into confined spaces, and tri-LEDs around the anvil light the work with fewer shadows.
- REDLINK PLUS Intelligence protects against overload, overheating, and over-discharge; rated for use in environments up to 69kV.

This is the compact 1/2" wrench for pros who already run the M18 platform and need short-nose access for automotive, mechanical, and maintenance work. Because it is a bare tool (SKU ends in -20), pick it if you have M18 batteries and a charger on hand; if you are starting fresh, choose a kit instead. The friction ring anvil makes socket changes quick without a detent pin.
